Lancaster Train Station Renovations CH&E has completed work on the "AMTRAK Lancaster Station Improvement Project," which consisted of upgrading and renovating the historic Lancaster Train Station. This station was originally built for the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1929 and is undergoing a ten year modernization and improvement initiative. Credited in large part to an increase in AMTRAK service between Philadelphia and Harrisburg, ridership on the Keystone Corridor has grown more than 62 percent since 2002. Over 1,000 passengers use this train station daily. These overdue and much needed improvements were intended to make Lancaster more accessible to commuters, visitors and the business community. |
