CH&E Construction has been a member of the U.S. Green Building Council since 2002, and has completed many projects containing Green Construction techniques, including the renovation of St. Stephens Episcopal Cathedral in Harrisburg, PA. This project received a LEED Silver rating and become the first church in the nation to achieve LEED certification. As a member of the project team, CH&E was involved in planning and pricing for construction. As the builder, CH&E was particularly involved in Indoor Air Quality, Recycling, and Materials for this project.
Through association with the Sustainable Energy Fund, CH&E has also installed a wind generator and a photo-voltaic array in Hersheypark for a demonstration project that was, in part, funded by PA-DEP.
